Legal
Privacy Policy
What personal data we collect and when, for what purpose, and what rights you have as a data subject — on the basis of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).
Please note: This is a courtesy translation. The legally binding version of this privacy policy is the German Datenschutzerklärung.
1. Controller
The controller within the meaning of Art. 4 (7) GDPR is:
TNIA GmbH
Breitestraße 45
73553 Alfdorf
Germany
Telephone: +49 7172 935891-0
Email: info@tnia.de
Managing Director: Markus Karoly
2. General information on data processing
We process the personal data of our users only insofar as this is necessary to provide a functioning website as well as our content and services, or insofar as you have given your consent. The legal basis is generally Art. 6 (1) (a), (b) or (f) GDPR.
We use no tracking or analytics tools (no Google Analytics, Facebook pixel or similar), no advertising cookies and no social media plugins. We deliberately do without a cookie banner because we only use technically necessary functionality for which no consent is required (§ 25 (2) TTDSG).
3. Hosting
This website is hosted by Nodion, a hosting provider based in Germany. The server location and data processing take place exclusively within the European Union. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider.
4. Server log files
Each time a page is accessed, the hosting provider stores data in so-called log files that your browser transmits automatically. These are:
- IP address (shortened or pseudonymised where possible)
- Date and time of the request
- URL accessed and referrer
- Browser and operating system used
- HTTP status code and amount of data transferred
This data is processed exclusively to ensure trouble-free operation of the website, to maintain IT security (e.g. detection of attacks) and for statistical evaluation. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest). Log files are deleted or anonymised after a maximum of 30 days.
5. Contacting us
If you contact us by email, telephone or via the contact form, your details — including the contact data you provide — will be stored by us in order to process your enquiry and to be available for any follow-up questions.
The contact form collects the following data:
- Name (mandatory field)
- Company (optional)
- Telephone number or email address (mandatory — one of the two)
- Subject / topic selection (optional)
- Free-text message (optional)
Transmission is encrypted via HTTPS. The submitted data is sent by email to our address info@tnia.de. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (initiation of a contractual relationship) or Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to your enquiry). We store this data for as long as is necessary to process your request; statutory retention periods (e.g. under the German Commercial Code / Fiscal Code) remain unaffected.
6. Fonts
This website uses the fonts “Jost” and “Inter”. These are hosted locally on our server and delivered together with the page. When a page is accessed, no connection to third-party servers — in particular not to Google — is established, and no IP address is transmitted to third parties.
7. Embedded map (OpenStreetMap)
On the contact page (/en/contact/) we embed a map from the provider OpenStreetMap Foundation, St John's Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS, United Kingdom. When the page is accessed, your IP address is transmitted to OpenStreetMap. OpenStreetMap does not set any tracking cookies and uses the data exclusively to provide the map service.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in being able to show you our location visually). Further information can be found in the OpenStreetMap privacy policy: wiki.osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy.
8. Cookies
This website sets only a single, technically necessary cookie:
- tnia_lang_pref — stores your language preference so that the notice banner about the language version does not reappear every time a page is loaded. Duration: 180 days. This information remains exclusively on your device and is not transmitted to us or to third parties.
This cookie is necessary for the technical operation of the website (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TTDSG) and is not subject to the consent requirement. You can delete the cookie at any time in your browser settings.
9. SSL/TLS encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this site uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the browser's address bar changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the padlock symbol in your browser bar.
10. Your rights as a data subject
You have the right at any time to:
- Access to the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Erasure of the data stored by us (Art. 17 GDPR)
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Data portability of the data you have provided, in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Objection to processing based on a legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR)
- Withdrawal of consent given, with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR)
To exercise your rights, an informal message by email to info@tnia.de or by post to the address given in the legal notice is sufficient.
11. Right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority about the processing of your personal data by us. The authority responsible for TNIA is:
Der Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg
(State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg)
Lautenschlagerstraße 20
70173 Stuttgart
www.baden-wuerttemberg.datenschutz.de
12. Currency of this policy
